The text in the Companion Guide Reads:
"Transmogrifier ( 08, 1065 [Deck= Fantastic]; Run; Aggressive; Die= Blue [Deck= Fantastic]; Special; Aggressive)
Blue) Transmogrifier may be placed on any bunny which must roll higher
than 9 to survive. If the bunny does not survive, then the player may take
Water Units or Milk Units (or a combination of both) from any open store
that total the number rolled on the die by the opponent. "
The 'by the opponent' part is in 'green' and is not on the actual Bunny Card. I'm a bit confused, as it says "may be placed on any bunny" - this would imply that you're welcome to place it on your own bunny - in the case that you want to 'risk' your bunnies life in order to potentially gain Water or Milk units.
An easy scenario to think of is that someone puts a feed on your best bunny (Red Timid with 100 Clovers for example). You play Transmogrifier on your turn on your single celebrity bunny that is cannon fodder. It dies, so you gain the water units that you desperately needed to feed your bunny. Life is good.
My simplest conclusion is that this is a typo that occurred in the Bunny Bits and the Companion Guide simply scooped it up, and it's worth pointing out for future edits to both, but if it's intentional, I'm curious about the explanation.
If we DON'T want to edit the text, then we should follow the literal rule here. I can place it on "any bunny" which includes my own. Can I choose any opponent to roll?

" The 'by the opponent' part is in 'green' and is not on the actual Bunny Card. The violet text, in all cases, should appear on a card. The green text is from the deck's Bunny Bits. See the entry for Transmogrifier here: Fantastic Bunny Bits page. The violet text has more veracity (because everyone sees that immediately when playing the game) and green text provides clarification. I'm a bit confused, as it says "may be placed on any bunny" - this would imply that you're welcome to place it on your own bunny - in the case that you want to 'risk' your bunnies life in order to potentially gain Water or Milk units. The cards and text do not, and cannot (there isn't enough space or time to document all possible interactions between cards) define all situations. However, I believe the intent is to handle most situations and the (current) players can work out the details. Your scenario is completely legal.
If we DON'T want to edit the text, then we should follow the literal rule here. I can place it on "any bunny" which includes my own. Can I choose any opponent to roll? The owner of the bunny always rolls, so in this specific case, you are your own opponent.

Davii, I think that perhaps my concern wasn't worded correctly enough. The link you sent me to (the Bunny bits) DOES NOT have that added text on the webpage, but DOES have that added text in the PDF. What I'm saying is that somewhere, something is wrong. I agree - that sometimes there's space limitations on the cards - but the point I'm perhaps trying to make more than anything is that there is a weird inconsistency here that I'm really not sure why it's even included/relevant.
Let me know if I need to reword. Thanks for your insights!

I am still not following your thoughts. This is what I see: KB web site ( killerbunnies.com/?page_id=5078): Bunny Bits ( killerbunnies.com/PDFfiles/Bits_Fantastic.pdf): QCC (2018.11.13): Transmogrifier (Φ08, 1065 [Deck= Fantastic]; Run; Aggressive; Die=Blue) As far as I can tell, those texts are all identical (with the stylistic exception that I follow the modern typographical convention of a single space after the period [full stop] that ends a sentence, but that extra space is stripped by ProBoards.) "By the opponent" is present in all of them and they are all identical. The card text (Fantastic card, Series ZZ, copyright 2017) says: "May be placed on any bunny which must roll higher than 9 to survive. If the bunny does not survive, then the play may take Water Units or Milk Units that total the number rolled on the die." All three of the texts above are a superset of the card text. What am I missing?

I believe tastypastry is claiming the "by the opponent" clause in the Bunny Bits is potentially a misprint since it doesn't fit with the "may be placed on any bunny" clause (except if you count yourself the opponent as you mentioned). I believe we all agree on the intended mechanic here, so this is not a critical misprint if we were to consider it one. Strictly speaking, "The player who owns the target bunny" probably would have been a more accurate phrasing to use here, but arguably unnecessary. (Only corrects a rarely beneficial scenario). In contrast, this type of phrasing is fully necessary on the Mad, Mad Donnelaith Baker since it commonly will be played on your own bunny.
