HI Saw this on JB's facebook page and marveled at the sheer size of it. A lot bigger than anything I'll ever own. Thanks Playroom!

Woah, what is THIS? What IS this?

Does anybody know if the Jupiter "Green" expansion (the last one, with sectors 19, 20, and 21) will have the (dwarf) planet Pluto in it? Or is that reserved for the Oort Cloud?

It will have whatever you imagine, because we will likely never see it. Ever. I'm going to go cry now.

I suggested this a few years ago, but why not a fan version to fix what's wrong with Jupiter? Something like a crowdsourced set of rules to play with Jupiter cards and a new board (since we're not getting any more sections of it during our lifetimes). What needs to be fixed? Things like: - Slow play with more than four players.
- Jupiter's orbit is square on two sides (why?!) rather than circular or elliptical. (Easy to fix; I've already mocked up an entire board with all 21 sectors.)
- Saturn's orbit is not centered on Sun.
- Why aren't the other planets' orbits at least elliptical?
- Why isn't Uranus lying on its side in the catalog artwork? Uranus' rings are 97 degrees off axis so they should be nearly vertical.
- Why don't the small grid sector numbers shown on sectors other than Sector 01? A lot of unnecessary counting could be eliminated by including sector numbers.
- Does Pluto make an appearance on sectors 19-21?
- Planets orbit the wrong way (unless JB was trying to make some Penguin southern hemisphere statement), since when the solar system is viewed from "above" (north) the planets in the actual solar system orbit counter-clockwise (anti-clockwise for our UK friends) rather than clockwise as they do in game play.
- Why is there "ground play" at all? Eliminate the ground play and speed up the game.
- The game started out as "Rooney's Asteroids." Why isn't there an asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter?
- Why not make the planets move after each player's turn? As it is, the outer planets move so slowly there is no point in orbiting them.

We made the following adjustments to speed up play,
- Max 5 Players. - Each player chooses a colour and gets one bunny and one ship of that colour. - Eliminate ground play entirely. - Only move the planets upon collection or delivery of a carrot. The planets all move by a number equal to the roll of their respective dice.
I've long wanted to do a board redesign which expands the board in all directions instead of only downwards. Hunting for carrots in the redundant south of the board is already a big ask. Can't imagine how tedious it would be with 21 sectors. I was thinking more in the vein of Corner expansions a la Talisman.
Also, the addition of the shipyard for buying ships would be great. We need the cards really.

We need the cards really. Help me understand what you're meaning by expanding the board in "all directions." Do you mean so it is shaped like a larger square (5 sectors x 5 sectors instead of 3 sectors x 3 sectors?), still centered on the Sun? Or do you mean shaped like a "+" where the board is extended vertically and horizontally, but not on the diagonals? Extended how far? Is the shipyard "Darth Ostrich's Spacemart"? (Making the cards is the easy part, deciding what to have them do is the hard part.)

A big + yes! 3 sectors on each of the North, East, South and West board edges. The corners are where the players go.
And yes, Darth Ostrich's Spacemart.

So, what you're looking for is something like this attachment (black is the game board; yellow is to be omitted)? Is that graphic along the lines of what you were thinking? Is the Saturn orbit too large (it is roughly extended from the CTA orbit). Should Venus and Mercury be added? This is a slightly revised version that has a larger Jupiter orbit (to use more of the space) and a slightly smaller Saturn orbit. This could allow for an asteroid field/belt between Mars and Jupiter. What do you think?
