I can't believe how much bad press this game gets because 99.9% of players feel it is 100% luck.
I don't know if I'm imagining things or if I just have extremely good luck at this game but I feel, given a thorough knowledge of the game, that there is room for alot of strategy in this game.
There are certain choices in this game that can be wrong if decided by a novice but can win the game if decided by a veteran player.
Yes, the winner is determined by who has the winning carrot, but getting that winning carrot is the strategy of it. If a veteran is playing, his chances of winning are increased. In a game of luck, this is not the case. Jeff is a math teacher, I'm sure he could crunch the numbers involved in the probability of winning and such. Regardless, I don't think this game is all luck.
It's only luck if you have no knowledge of the game.

I totally agree... If one player has 19 carrots and the other has 1...I wonder who is favored to win? Hmmmmmmmmmm...gotta love statistics... So the harder you fight and the craftier you are the more carrots you have...the less carrots your opponents have...your' odds of winning go up... Yes...this does not guarentee a win...but that's why I love this game... Toodles! *BB01*

Hmmm... I've noticed that bad reviews are usually from people who say they played it only once or twice.
Yes, it requires a lot of luck, bt you CAN bend things in order to have both at least one live bunny and one carrot by the end of the game. I take your point about numbers of carrots BB01, but there's nothing to say that one won't be it!
Once won a game by trading a carrot for another player's bunny just in the nick of time ... y'know, it's all about the dirty deals & being mean to people with whisks/glowing lawn darts/cheeseballs for me.
I mean really, if people think the carrot lottery is such a bad idea after all that hard strategising, why don't they just decide that the person with the most carrots/bunnies/weapons in their hand at the end of the game wins.
Game whingers are obviously no good at making house rules. Cheers! ~Vic
