Right now I have up to the Stainless Steel expansion but I was thinking about making this my next purchase. I know it doesn't technically matter what order you buy them in but it certainly helps to buy them in order. Since this isn't really an expansion but a brand new game, will there be unusable cards and such since I don't have all the expansions first?

The Conquest starter is compatible with Quest Blue Starter. This means it is compatible with all that follows as well. As long as you have the Quest Blue Starter, you'll be fine.

The only issue you'll have with combining it is that the new metals exchange becomes pretty redundant.
