I've been considering jumping in and getting J2J after having played Quest for quite a while. Besides the fact that there is now a game board, what are the major differences between Quest and J2J? Would a Quest veteran like me find J2J easy to get a grasp on? And what do you feel are the advantages/disadvantages J2J has when compared to Quest?
Thanks!

Jupiter has a similar mechanic to Quest, so you have cards in your Top Run and Bottom Run, and then another set of cards in your hand.
The difference is basically that you have a "ground move" followed by a "space move". If you have nothing in space, you're done and it is the next player's turn. Ground is just about like Quest. Space is like other board games using a hex map and moving around the board. The planets (Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn is added with the Ultra Violet expansion) also move every round, and that adds another level of complication. Honestly, we found it a lot more fun with the Ultra Violet expansion due to the addition of pineapples.

Jupiter also makes for a longer game. But can also add a lot more stategy. I definately agree that UV adds a lot to the game. Should be easy for a KB player to learn and the rules are a bit cleaner in my opinion.

You are right—we are not posting from the future.
It is the Laser Red expansion. I got the order of the expansions mixed up.
