So I don't notice as much activity on the Journey to Jupiter part of the boards as I do the Quest part. What does everyone who has played both think of J2J? Is it as good as Quest or not so much? Is it worth getting into? Personally I never get tired of Playing Killer Bunnies and (for now) see no need to invest in a new set of games.

I haven't been playing Quest as long as most people on here - including you Darren, so maybe I'm not as tied to it as others, but I do really love it! I have all of the expansions, including Kinder Bunnies and as many of the promos as I've been able to get my hands on.
That being said, I think J2J is a better game - or at least I think it will be. It still needs more expansions to flesh it out, but the "base game" with just the blue and yellow decks is better than the base of QftMC IMO. Also, (maybe because there aren't as many expansions out yet) it works better for two players than the whole Quest game, so when it's just my wife and me we always play J2J now.
The biggest thing is that each turn, you now have two phases, instead of one. The first, "ground phase" of your turn works almost exactly like a turn in QftMC. After that, you get a "space phase" where you move ships in space on the board provided. This is where you actually get carrots in J2J - you collect them from floating in space. That's the basic gist of it. Like I said, I like it a bit better (at least for the level of expansions that are out right now) than QftMC - but much like any Bunnies game, it may not be for everyone.
Hope that helps.

I played Quest for the first time a few days before Christmas of 2006 so I beat you by less than a week...I loved Quest immediately and I bought all the expansions that were out and as soon as they were released after that, and spent too much on some of the promos, all as a poor college student...I played J2J and I liked it...I bought the game a few months later even though I had a job and could easily afford it.
J2J is not a bad game by any means but I like Quest better, and I don't think it's just because I've been playing it for so long...

J2J with just the blue and yellow sets is good but far too basic. Now the red set has been added it's improved as a game about threefold. It's great for 2-4 players. However, I run a monthly Killer Bunnies night and have about 8-10 people over over the course of a day and we usually play Quest. It's still better by a bit right now but I think once J2J has all it's expansions it's going to be a much tighter game.

Just to put my $0.02 in I like both games. I think that J2J will be the better/deeper game. I also feel this varies with the number of players - QfMC scales well for more players (currently) But J2J looks like it will have deeper gameplay. I remember how Q got much better beginning with the addition of the violet deck so I expect this will happen with J2J - waiting for xmas to get my copy of the laser red - Also am still working on getting the expansions for Quest - I will be receiving White next. As to the lack of activity, I think it is 2 fold. One is the fact the J2J builds heavily on Quest and many of the potentially confusing parts are already answered for quest. 2- I think creative team alpha did a good job of learning from quest and have created tighter and less ambiguous cards the 2nd time around. Fewer questions = less activity on the boards.

It sound like most people like J2J for its cleaner, tighten-up gameplay. It makes sense that most of the difficult-to-undersatnd rules are already hammered out for people who have played Quest. Thanks for your replies!
