Hi guys, I just saw the Quest Card Companion, and printed out a copy for myself, and the plan was to put into my thee hole binder with all my other Killer Bunnies stuff..
Sadly, it looks like the 3-hole punch that I used for everything punches holes right at the edge of the text.. In most cases it's not a problem, but I haven't taken a close look at all the pages..
Is there any chance the next time you update the PDF, could you please move everything over 1/8 or 1/16 so one could use a 3-hole punch with it??
Thanks, Jun

That's a reasonable request. Are 0.5 inch margins sufficient for a 3-hole punch?

I know this has been around for a while, but as a newbie, I can't thank enough everyone who contributed to the companion. It is a great reference to have and sure beats paging thru individual bunny bits books. I do agree with putting it out on pdf, it keeps it nice and intact. I recently spent some time with the document and am having it printed and bound at k1nko's. With vinyl covers, coil binding and 1 tab insert, it costs about $9. I was wondering if you have thought about also placing a .doc version on the site. It was a huge pain to work with the pdf to format the document and add some blank pages to allow for double sided printing. The doc would make this so much easier as I don't think many people can manipulate pdf files. that way, those interested could set their own margins, add covers, etc. Just A thought - I certainly don't want to add work for anybody. thanks again, Jason PS - I do have the pdf I used if anybody is interested

Hi Jason, I provide a .doc version to anyone who requests one in a PM or an email to me. So far, I think the tally is 2-3. There hasn't been a lot of demand for .doc, from what I can tell. It is usually people who want to reformat it like you have. I'd be interested in seeing what you have done with it (perhaps to incorporate changes in the next version?). I also hope that you have the 3.1 version (and not the 3.0), which was released last month. There are a few reasons why I don't post a link to a .doc version: - PDF preserves the formatting and pagination perfectly.
- The QCC uses "styles" extensively, which are very confusing for casual word processor users and they are likely to be more frustrated than anything if they don't know how to use styles (and most people do not). Use of styles makes it easier to edit and maintain.
- I use OpenOffice.org to edit the document, so .doc is not its native format, though it is not much extra work to export as .doc (File | Save As...).
- I edit on Linux, not Windows, so I may use different fonts than are available on Windows or Mac (i.e., they're not the standard fonts that may come with Microsoft Office).
- To those whom I have sent .doc files, I ask that they to avoid making rule changes since the changes I incorporate are vetted by the members of this message board and we don't need player arguments starting when someone inserts a "pet" rule and then re-releases it, causing a lot of confusion.
- Additionally, since I don't "own" the text (I merely maintain the document), I also remind people that it is copyright Playroom Entertainment (there is a copyright notice embedded in the PDF). (95% of the document is Creative Team Alpha's, so we're only clarifying the confusing "bits", pun intended).
