What decisions do you make and why?
We've played 5 games so far, using different variants. For each Decision time, so far we like: A Using 6 carrots, (We've played with 4, 6, 8) B We like all carrot placement options, and usually mix and match the variants within one game C We have played all 7-card deals using quickie rules of starting with a bunny and a ship. D having the game end when the last carrot is picked up (Tho we have not tried 'move twice as fast' option E having the countdown at the end for only one winner (Tho this is the only way we've played)
We opt for games that are quicker. We found 4-carrot games too short, and having the homestretch go by tournament rules can seem to take for-ev-er. (The last game we played had three people, six carrots. We were going to use tournament rules, but had played for 1.5 hours and noone had even deposited a carrot. We finally decided to switch to quickie to end the game as the last carrot was gobbled up.)
I forsee wanting to try the points scoring system as more expansions are added. Btu the Casual scoring seems nearly the same as Tournament with only 8 carrots. (A non-magiccarrot holding person needs 4 of the 8 to win, and odds are if you have that many carrots, you're already holding the magic one.)
What's your favorite variant and why?

a) 8 carrots (they get picked up way too quickly sometimes) b) either by die rolls or by players placing them on the board. c) you use whatever you get dealt (that's what we're used to) d) have to bring all carrots to Jupiter, no change to movement e) he who has the Magic Carrot wins
