I just received J2J for Christmas and have to say that it is an excellent game. However I have a couple of rules questions.
1. Ship Weapons
a) If a ship is caught in a Flax Energy Net can other players use Wormhole or Random Movement against that ship?
b) Can a player caught in a Flax Energy Net use Quantum Hop?
c) Can you use Wormhole, Random Movement, or the Flax Energy Net on your own ships? It is obvious why you may want to use Wormhole or Random Movement on yourself but the reason I include the Flax Energy Net is because it eliminates the lock of Beyea Aliens and it would protect your ship from being attacked.
2. Age of Aquarius
a) The card states that if you have this card saved and a ship on any of the aquarius spots, jupiter and mars are aligned, or the date is between January 20 and February 18 that you can play an extra card from your hand. Does this mean you can even play a 'run' card directly from your hand?
b) I would also like to add that this card seems a little bit too powerful since there is basically nothing you can do against a player who has it except hope that you come across the 1st Cadet card. Are you supposed to discard it after using it once?
3. Space Combat
a) If you are engaged in combat and your opponent flees do you have to try to follow them or can you choose to move in a different direction to put yourself in a better position?
b) Suppose you attack someone and they flee. You now attempt to pursue but there is a carrot along the way. Can you stop and pick up the carrot since it is your turn? This would likely end the combat but what if you are adjacent to the carrot and your opponents ship?
c) Lastly, if you are pursuing a fleeing ship can you move towards a different ship and begin combat with that new ship?
Any comments or help regarding these questions would be greatly appreciated. I don't think any of them are directly answered in the rule books but I could be wrong. Don't get me wrong though this is a great game!
