I had mentioned this in a couple threads, but not as it's own... and I was wondering about the legal aspects of it... Playing a special card to delay turning over your top run card. Say you have a Choose a Carrot card (or anything you need a bunny for that you don't want to lose...) as your top run - and someone (surprise!) just killed your bunny. Can you play, say, Noah's Flood from your hand without really using it, in the hopes that you draw a card that lets you get a bunny back (Magic Fountain, Supplies Surprise, or what-not...) ? I already do this - but I've never seen anything that says whether or not it's a legal option. If it was, it would make seemingly "useless" specials a bit more handy... (or is this something everybody already does and I'm stating the obvious here... "look everyone! the sky is blue, but it also has these white things floating in it sometimes!...")

That would be legal.

Legal.
Another fine use for this is this scenario:
Say that your opponents have no bunnies down. You have just successfully killed all other bunnies in the bunny circle!! But you have another fun weapon as your top run and it's now your turn.
Man, you wish like crazy you could save this weapon like a special card because it sure would be fun to wipe out your opponents' bunnies with it! Speaking of specials, let's check the hand for one I can play right now. Hey, there's Bounty Mounty! I'll just play this card and save my top run for next time! Oh what fun. The fools...er...opponents will wonder why I am playing this card! Suckas!! I bet they have some bunnies coming through and you still have that weapon with which to attack them.
Yes, this is how my mind sounds when I am playing. Welcome to it!

i know that would be legal. but what if the special card did nothing so you just had to discard it?

i know that would be legal. but what if the special card did nothing so you just had to discard it? IT would be no different than having to discard a useless run card because you have no bunnies down...only playing a "useless" special card from your hand is by choice!

Gah! In the online game last night, I was faced with this situation. My only bunny was killed and I had some fun Run cards in my Top and Bottom Run. Weil's was low so if I could snag 10 dolla, I could buy a bunny and place it down. So I threw away a Roll-O-Lution in the hopes I might draw some money. Nope. I got only two bunnies all night. ::sigh:: It was fun though!

Um... if you buy a bunny from Weil's, does it not go into your hand, not down? I think you have to run bought bunnies through.

You have to run 'em through unless store is LOW prices... I think...

Sorry for the double post. My eyes are all tired.
Do we have the power to delete our own posts?

GL is right. If Weil's is open for low prices, it says right on the card that bunnies may be placed down immediately.
Also, when Rooney's is low, weapons may be launched immediately!
Cheap and Play Immediately! What a lovely combo!

My other 'special delay' for the game was on cruise missile prime. I was waiting for it to explode before playing the VS weapon booster. Unfortunately HotDog knocked it out of the sky .

Sorry, Tyb...I was trying to keep a Michigan Connection last night. It helped being "across the table" from each other though. I'm still kickin' myself for not TMing JP's last bunny!! I should have known better if he would so easily put up 2 carrots to defend himself. But there were no other offers!!
