So they can't lower the level of a weapon? We had always played them like one time use clovers.
"Defense Card units must match or exceed the level of the weapon that a player wishes to eliminate. For example a Weapon Level 07 may simply be eliminated by a Defense Card with 7 units. A Weapon Level 08 may be eliminated by Defense Cards that add up to or exceed 8 units. A player may not receive "change" from the Defense Card pile. Once Defense Cards have been used they are discarded and may not be sold and used again. Defense Cards may only be used before a player rolls for the weapon."
That quote doesn't really clear that up either, is there a FAQ somewhere with this info on it?

No, Defense Cards do not "lower the level" of the weapon.
Defense Cards are not like Lucky Clover. They can eliminate the weapon (so it isn't rolled), but only if you have as many Defense Cards as the level of the weapon. Any less and the weapon is not eliminated nor is the "level" reduced.

From QCC 3.1 (and Red Bunny Bits): "A Weapon Level 08 may be eliminated by Defense cards that add up to, or exceed, 8 units." Does "add up to" mean the single Defense card must have at least units or is it implying multiple defense cards can be used that their Units are added up to eliminate a single weapon? For example: Your bunny gets hit with a Weapon Level 15. You have a Defense card of 7 units and a Defense card of 8 units...so you use both of those Defense cards to eliminate the weapon. That's legal?

That's legal? Yes. It works like Cabbage and Water. You add the Cabbage (or Water) cards up for a Feed the Bunny. Defense works the same way. You add them up. But it does not lower (reduce) the roll needed. You either have enough Defense cards or you don't.

Thanks. I've been rereading the Bunny Bits/QCC 3.1 (as I'm typing up the Chocolate Booster and Indigo/Midnight fan decks), it's amazing the things I learn after almost a year of playing, including:
More unstanding of Mysterious Place cards (controlling cards on the list with the yellow ball--would be easier to glean on the QCC if they were in a list rather than a paragraph)
The Semi-specialty-ness of Lord of the Bunnies (that it eliminates all other Specialities, but cannot roll d20 for Level 1-12 weapons).
Random Dolla Card must be used (and spent) immediately and cannot be saved.
Dated weapons cannot be used on anyone born on a 17th of a month (had misread that as being dated weapons cannot be played on the 17th of the month).
50/50 Weapons are Black P-Cards.
Etc..
