So, defense units can eliminate weapons. Can they lower a weapon like a clover can? Can they be combined to eliminate? Help!!

defense units are for use after you roll the dice and you don't have a high enough roll to survive, they work exactly like the clovers except you have to discard them after you use them. You can use as many as you want, as far as I know, but don't quote me on it.

No problem.
Just so you know, defense cards have to be used before you roll the die. You can use as many as you want but to protect your own bunnies from the weapon, you need to equal or exceed the weapon level. But, unlike cabbage and water, no change is given.
From the bits:
"Defense Card units must match or exceed the level of the weapon that a player wishes to eliminate. For example a Weapon Level 07 may simply be eliminated by a Defense Card with 7 units. A Weapon Level 08 may be eliminated by Defense Cards that add up to or exceed 8 units. A player may not receive "change" from the Defense Card pile. Once Defense Cards have been used they are discarded and may not be sold and used again. Defense Cards may only be used before a player rolls for the weapon."

Wow, my friend who taught me told me about the no change part but he played that you can play them after you roll. That changes so much! So if you have the defense and you don't use it to kill the bunny before you roll and your roll is a flop, your bunny dies?

If you have defense units and choose not to use them and you roll bad, yes, your bunny dies.

Fifi: That was a weird way of playing. It was exactly backwards from the way we played our first game. I read the rules that night and got it right after that. Good thing the Magic carrot is here to save us all.
