Hi all,
I finally completed my collection of Quest. I'm just wondering if is should continue having one draw pile and when it gets low grab refill it with the rest of the cards i keep in the box. Or should i look to have 2-4 draw piles to add a layer of strategy to the game? My thoughts are if i have the one draw pile that i keep restocking it keeps the core game play in tact. Each player takes their turn and draws their card that they were "supposed" to get. With the multi draw piles you give people the chance to go after a green card for zodiacs, or blue/yellow if they want a better shot at a bunny. I'm hoping someone has tried these out for some feedback. Did you like one way or the other better? Thanks in advance to any responses.

We play with all compatible decks (quest, conquest, kinder) and use a single re-stockable draw pile. We play often enough where this allows us to see fewer repeated cards. Also, there's a general house understanding/rule that disallows 'paying attention' to booster color, particularly in situations when a player can choose cards (i.e. Journey to the Center..)

Thats a lot of cards AquaJimbo. I have a pretty devoted group of 4 (including myself) when we play. I take the time to mix the discarded back in for the next time we play. I can honestly say there are enough I almost can't tell if things repeat too much. I want to keep the re-stockable draw pile to be honest. I am just hoping to see what other peoples experiences have been who have a full set.

Since version 3 (Aug. 2009), the QCC says (I will confess it is kinda buried): So, what you're suggesting isn't allowed.

I realize that this may be heresy and open myself to criticism of not playing this game by the rules, but our family plays with 12 draw piles. We also play with cards turned up or down randomly. The essence of this format is based on a roll of 2 - 6 sided die. Whatever the roll, the player has the choice of picking the numer rolled of one die, the other die or the added combination of the dice. Ironically, this format has been completely compatible with all of the other rules of te game.
This change has made this game so much more fun, strategic and addictive.

Glad you found that Davii. I figured this should be somewhere. The idea Lara brings to the table certainly sounds fun. I still want to keep the integrity of the game so for that reason the QCC ruling comforts me.
