I posted this question over at BoardGameGeek and failed to get a response: boardgamegeek.com/article/16199043#16199043Earlier today my friend played Bad Karma on me. Bad Karma requires that I can never choose to discard a weapon card and must instead play it on myself. However, I had cool change in my hand. I used it to discard some weapon cards directly from my hand and draw new cards. Did I play this correctly or incorrectly? The reason I ask is that I believe that the nature of the rule is to prevent individuals from discarding weapon cards that they had run through - not necessarily ones from their hand. So I wasn't actually 'playing' the weapon cards, but simply discarding them. I saw it as the same thing as if someone had played 'Run Amok' on me - the only difference is that I made the conscious choice. Thoughts?

Bad Karma only makes your next launched weapon be directed at yourself, so anything that is not launched (via your RUN) does not affect Bad Karma. Neither does it eliminate the Bad Kama you have, nor does it mean that you made an illegal play. But the next weapon to come through your run will definitely be directed due to Karma.
