I was reading the Sunny Day thread (which was getting off topic, hence this post) and minimum post length came up in the conversation. So I did a little digging on the ProBoards Support Forum and came up with a thread on a code mod for minimum post length (it allows exceptions for moderators, etc.) I guess I really don't have too strong of an opinion about post length either way. Short posts seem to keep the board flowing more like a conversation, which sort of makes it feel like you're... at home, I guess. But longer posts are generally more meaningful, and prevent you from having to wade through six pages of meatlessness before finding what you're looking for... For my own personal posting, I generally don't post unless I really have something meaningful to say. I could easily have way more posts than I do now (and be rid of dreaded albino baby status if I had posted every time I have had the urge, but I just think that sometimes less is more... Just my two cents... What do y'all think?

Okay, now that that's out of my system...I'd have to say that there should be no post size limit. This seems to cause a awkward type situation on the boards... when this happens, people seem to back away from here...if newbies see a lively, freindly board they won't be embarrassed to ask questions. this will cause more members and an overall strong board. So although people may think it spam... speaking of spam gives a good feeling. I find it better to joke around, come on it's a killer bunnies board we should not really be THAT serious after all.

Ruroni - when I saw your first blank post I was like "Hey - I was just trying to continue a conversation!" But then the email for your next post came through, so I read that before replying... I wasn't advocating instituting a minimum length, just thought I'd continue the conversation in a thread that was correctly named. Like I originally said, "Short posts seem to keep the board flowing more like a conversation, which sort of makes it feel like you're... at home" Which is what I like about this board... <shrugs>

Once in a while, I've seen one-word posts that have more meaning than many several-paragraph posts. Examples can be found in the card ideas section, where people may be looking for card name ideas to fit their rules for the card.
