Welcome, Tommy!
Now that you've caught "the bug" (not H1N1), you may find yourself using all sorts of "Killer Bunnies" references outside of the game too!

Hello!
My name is Darren and I have been a Bunny-holic for almost 3 years. I bought the Blue deck as a Christmas gift for a relative THEN she gave me a list of things she really wanted. My wife and I decided to give it to ourselves. We played it the day after Christmas 2006 and have been huge fans ever since. I live in Mapleton, UT and I am going to school to be a Pharmacist. My wife's favorite cards are all Terrible Misfortune and mine are anything that causes widespread damage and general Chaos (Nuclear Warhead, Everyone Feed a Bunny while the Market is closed, etc.) I enjoy your site. It has been lots of fun and very informative.

Name: Daniel - DanTheTimid is a nick name I've used when playing card games for some where around 10 years now, though I use it in many other games as well. Depending on what card games you've played you may recognize my name as I've both won some awards/trophies from my play in various card games, but also written (and in one case was even paid for writing) articles for various card game websites
Location: Glendale, Arizona, US - Formerly of Phoenix, now within walking distance of Phoenix, but technically in Glendale.
Age: 26 - If I played sports they'd probably say I was in my prime, at my peak, with no where to go but down, but when it comes to card games and other games of the mind I'm still quite young with plenty of years to grow in skill and experience.
Occupation: Extremely overly qualified temp cafeteria worker and office assistant. - I have a computer science bachelors of science degree from ASU, which despite some of its notoriety as a party college, actually has one of the most respected computer and technology departments in the country. Unfortantly the economy sucks and since graduating over a year ago I've been met with pretty much the same message at every interview "If you'd have graduated a semester sooner we'd have hired you in an instant, but right now theres just too many out of work software engineers with experience willing to work for slave wages to justify hiring some one with out experience, even at slave wages". So I find myself working with a temp agency and a local family run ad agency as a cafeteria worker and office assistant.
Favorite Carrot: Haven't played the game enough yet to have a favorite carrot. - But if I had to pick... I don't know, I guess that samurai looking one.
How long have you been playing KB?: Couple days. - Got the game over the weekend and managed to play it once with my wife. We both enjoyed it and I'm hoping to go to an old comic store we used to frequent back when we were really into card games and see if some of are old friends will play with us some time in the near future.
Extra Notes: At some point about 10 or so years ago when I was in highschool and living with my parents my mother got a pet rabbit. He was a big white fluff ball with an extremely mellow personality so she named him Mr. Mellow, first name, of course, Marsh. I fell in love with the little guy and have been a big bunny fan ever since. My wife, knowing this, tried to get me into killer bunnies a year or so ago, she figured that I love card games and I love bunnies so it was a match made in heaven, but when I saw the packaging it seemed to me the game was all about cruelly killing bunnies, which did not interest me. Then the other day we saw the starter on sale at a barnes and nobles. Since my wife lost her old office job and now works for minimum wage at a daycare, and I still haven't been able to find anything but just barely then minimum wage paying temp jobs, money has been tight and we'd gotten out of collectible card games. This seemed, however, like a card game that wasn't necessarily a money sink, something we could enjoy and afford on our current budget, so I gave in and decided to give the game a chance. So far I've been very pleasantly surprised. There is definitely some horrible maiming of bunnies, but overall the game is cute and funny, with the violence only being implied. There's a little more luck then I'm usually fond of in my card games, but there's enough control and strategy available that so far I've been able to over look the luck and just enjoy the game. Will I still be playing killer bunnies years from now, don't know, but at least for the time being its been a fun diversion for me and my wife and I'm hoping it'll prove just as if not more successful as a large group party game.

hey Dan,
I'm right there with you. I graduated a semester too late with a BS in Electronic Media, and have been working at Wal-Mart since.

Welcome, Dan!
I too have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. While you're working, get some experience in this field--even if you have to do it as volunteer. It shows initiative on your resume. Getting into a niche area like IT Security or IT Networking helps too (unless what you want to do is design/code).

I almost got a job once as an unpaid intern, but after extensive interviewing with the company I learned A) I was going to be their only computer science major on staff, working alone, thus not learning/drawing experience from anyone else already in the field and B) the work they wanted me to do was outside my area of expertise. If I was going to be paid I'd have still given it a shot, but not getting paid and with out anyone else who knew what they were doing to give me any direction, it looked like it was just going to be a rather painful experience with a high likelihood of actually making my resume look worse rather then better.
The only other volunteer job I applied for I never heard back on. I suppose I could have pursued it more thoroughly with call backs to find out what the deal was, if they hired some one else or just dropped the position, but since it was volunteer work I admit I was less motivated.
I think the biggest trick to volunteer work is finding the time for it, lately myself and my wife have been so busy its hard even finding free time on the weekends lately (I learned because of a job she got hired for on saturday and a previous engagement on sunday we may not be able to head over to that comic shop to play killer bunnies until at least the following week).
For the record the reason I got into computer science wasn't to design/code (though that is fun), but because the day I met my college career counselor to sign up for my first college courses they asked me what degree I wanted to go after and I told them "whichever one gives me the best shot of having no trouble finding work when I graduate". They suggested computer science because it was a rapidly growing field, supposedly more positions available then people to fill them, and thus why I made it my career choice. So really, I wouldn't care what I was using my degree for, I got it not to code but so I could be sure that what has happened, my graduating and not finding work, wouldn't happen. I'd like to be annoyed at my counselor but from what I hear pretty much all graduates are suffering these days so it really wouldn't have mattered what career path I'd taken.
Anyway hopefully things will turn around eventually and hopefully when that happens people will still be willing to hire people like myself and fifisdead, despite the long down time between graduation. Till then I'm just doing my best to get by and keep my ears and eyes open for opportunities.
Thanks for the greetings!
